Mr. Hofmeyer started practicing law in Oelwein in August of 1978. Originally his office was at 15 East Charles. In 1989 he purchased Darold Jack's law practice and building, and moved to his current location at 8 East Charles Street.
He and his wife Janet raised their four children here in Oelwein. Their children are grown now, but John and Janet remain active in their community and church.
